The Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii) had the Inaugural Meeting on the ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฒ ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ on 4 December 2024. Initially planned as a discussion with representatives from a dozen countries, the meeting exceeded expectations, bringing together supervisors from an astonishing ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฝ๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฏ ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ.
Global champions of sustainable development and inclusive insurance like Jeffrey Sachs, Ekhosuehi Iyahen, and Tomรกs Soley Pรฉrez expressed their endorsement of the Declaration. It is a great demonstration of support and testimony of the relevance of the Declarationโs goals.
We are thrilled and very much looking forward to seeing the developments of the next six months while we fill the Declaration with life. This short video below gives you a glimpse of the energy and collaboration that filled the room.
We closely followed the discussions in the working groups and got a clearer picture of how to shape the way forward. We are already working on a concrete process design, which we plan to share early next year. On this basis, we will then discuss with each other again in smaller regional rounds in February 2025.
